Walk-In Closets

So at the end of January, our apartment manager notified us that construction workers would be coming in 2 weeks to rip out our old closets to install new walk-in closets. We had mixed feelings about this project... but to make a long story short, the construction workers came and a 2 week project turned into a 3 1/2 week ordeal. Needless to say, the project is over and we just spent the entire day reorganizing our lives. We'll let the pictures tell the story...

This is what our closets used to look like. Both rooms in our 2 bedroom apartment are identical. This is a picture of our 2nd room.


Here is a picture of all our stuff piled in the room because we had to remove everything from the closets.


They made good progress the first day... too bad they didn't keep pace. There were several days (5 days) where they didn't do anything!

Finally they did the framing.


And the dry wall. It seemed like they would never finish!


3 1/2 weeks and a full Saturday of cleaning later... we're done living out of boxes.


Ultimately, we're grateful for the experience. We sent about 5 bags of stuff to DI and reorganized everything. We feel like we live in a new apartment and the closets turned out better than we had anticipated.
